Mobile maintenance and malfunction manager
Important machine status messages, such as unit errors or scheduled maintenance activities, are delivered to the responsible employees through a direct interface. Fitting solutions can be recommended through an extendable back-end knowledge database.
Application areas of the mobile maintenance and malfunction manager
- Malfunction clearance
The mobile maintenance and malfunction manager was developed for a producer of specialist machines that uses semi to fully automatic production lines; however, the customised units only demonstrate average OEEs of 65%. The mobile maintenance and malfunction manager above all significantly improves the efficiency of malfunction clearances and regular maintenance activities.
Core functionalities of the mobile maintenance and malfunction manager
An overview of all machines
The machine overview offers a compact visualisation of the shop floor. The current messages and scheduled maintenance activities for each machine can be consulted.
The current messages for each machine are classified by categories (malfunction, warning, scheduled maintenance, etc.).
Assigning tasks within a team
Messages and maintenance orders can either be acknowledged directly by an employee or forwarded to other team members (role-dependent).
Machine event history
All machine messages that have been processed are listed in the history view. This guarantees that all activities performed on a machine can be traced afterwards.
Recommending fitting solutions
Fitting solutions and their prioritisation are suggested for each message and maintenance order. These are stored in a database. Employees can perform an expanded semantic search if none of the suggested solutions fit.
Instructions from the knowledge database
Multimedia instructions – images and text – are provided for malfunction clearance and maintenance activities. The process to add new instructions is quite straightforward.
Reporting and rating
A short report is drafted at the end of each activity. This allows for complete traceability of all activities performed on a machine. In addition, the content used can be evaluated and annotated. This way, tried-and-tested solutions can be suggested for the same or a similar problem in future.
